Filming: Take 2

 Welcome back!

Our re-shoot went much more smoothly than did our original filming. Although my stress levels have been extremely high lately (my poor boyfriend) and I was running around like a maniac for the majority of the shoot, it ended pretty well. It took less time than it did before, and the footage is better too.

I had bought a $30 gimbal and $20 pocket light on Amazon 2 or 3 days prior, and I’m happy with the results that came out of such cheap equipment. Although the lighting isn’t ideal, it works pretty well and I’ll be trying to make some adjustments in premiere when I start editing (which will be very very soon). The pocket light wasn’t of much use, but we did utilize it for the “waking up scene”, as we’ve been calling it. We forgot to record the alarm clip, but I should be able to get that in on my own.

I did end up having someone else do the camera work, but he was good with communication and actually stuck to our plan. I was able to get more actors this time around, and we placed them around the house as per our original idea. I had picked up some drinks and snacks a couple days ahead of time, and along with a bunch of pizza (yes, we did that again), they were set up as filming snacks and recording props. I also ran around and took some of my photos off of the walls, as I didn't think they really matched what we were going for. We all had a good time, filming was pretty fun, and everyone was less tired than before because we were able to end earlier.

We took less pictures this time and we forgot to take a group photo, but I do have a few pictures to share:

Overall, I'm really glad I made the decision to initiate a re-shoot. My partners and I had more control over what happened and our footage is more aligned with our vision. Of course it isn't perfect, but my team is happier with what we have now. I'm stressed about getting the editing done, especially with the due date coming up fast, but hopefully that will ease a bit once I get into the groove of it. Though this next step is scary, I will admit I am kind of excited for it.

Shoutout to all of the wonderful people who helped out with filming:
