My Film Opening Project
Hello and welcome back!
As the school year moves on, my class is now getting ready to start making our two-minute film openings, which, at the end of the year, will be submitted to AICE Cambridge for grading as part of our exam. We are dividing ourselves up into groups between 1 and 3 people, so I will be working with my friends Nevaeh Rivera (here's her blog) and Chloe Askinazi (here's her blog).
Although I'm not the biggest fan of horror, our brainstorming led us to a horror idea for our film opening. Chloe is a big fan of horror, Nevaeh had a good general idea for a scene progression, and I saw how the two would combine perfectly. After further discussion, my group came up with a somewhat vague outline for our project. It is currently a slasher-style opening with a flashback to a calm situation as the last clip in the scene.
Chloe, Nevaeh, and I had been planning on doing this project together since the end of our film class last year, and everything worked out for us move forward in that. We all get along, are able to work well together, and are always bouncing ideas off of each other, so the three of us are a good fit for this project.
Our next assignment is to document our research. We will each be watching the openings for two movies in our chosen genre for analyzation; these may act as inspiration for our project. My work will be shown in my next two blog posts :)
To be continued...
